Care and cleaning of hearing aid accessories

Tips for cleaning the device behind the ear

For in-ear devices , the speakers (headphones) are either integrated in the hearing aid or outsourced in the ear canal.For devices with integrated receivers, the sound from the hearing aid enters the ear canal through the sound tube.Both variants are very sensitive to water and must not be in contact with water.Ear style earpiece devices typically provide with separately manufactured, but can be used with particularly sensitive customer ear canal, instead of the handset.Hearing aids, ear molds and umbrellas must be cleaned regularly.

For devices with outsourced listeners:

We recommend that you clean the ear mold and hearing aid with a slightly damp cloth every day.In our specialty store, you will get the right cleaning cloth and cleaning solution .Daily cleaning is also suitable for hearing aids with an umbrella, and the umbrella should be replaced once a month.

The outsourced earpiece is integrated into the ear mold and the sound outlet is a small screen.You should check the screen daily for dirt or blockage and update if necessary.We are happy to do this for you.Normally, the uterus protection (filter) should be replaced every four to eight weeks.

For sound tube variants, apply to:

Tips for cleaning in-ear hearing aids

For in-ear device , an electronic device directly in the housing, it is particularly sensitive to damage to the dust, moisture or earwax.In order to get proper care, the following points should be noted:

Water and solvents can damage sensitive electronic equipment.Carefully clean the in-ear hearing aid with a special cleaning cloth.

If earwax remains, use a special brush to remove it.To prevent earwax from entering the inside of the hearing aid, it should only be cleaned from top to bottom.

The hearing aid contains a ceramic filter and needs to be cleaned if necessary.This is the case if you don’t feel well or if you can’t adjust the volume as you normally would.In this case, you must replace the filter or consult a hearing health professional.

Hearing aid sterilization

Wearing a hearing aid every day requires contacting microorganisms (such as viruses and bacteria) with the device.This creates a certain risk of infection and can be prevented with the right tools.Disinfection of cleaning and care products for this purpose ensures microbial contamination for a few days.
